Learn to knit stranded colorwork!
This 1 ½ hour class will introduce you to two-color stranded colorwork while knitting a hat, cowl or scarf. Choose two contrasting worsted-weight yarns and one of the ‘Spot On’ patterns by Daisilly. We will cover stranded color-work knit-in-the round and flat, color dominance, various ways to hold your two strands of yarn, catching floats and tension.
Class Materials:
Purchase one of the three patterns (links below) and two contrasting worsted-weight yarns. You will also need a US 8 (5 mm) 16”-24” circular needle, stitch markers and a writing utensil. You are highly encouraged to start the single-strand portion of the project up to where the second color is introduced prior to the class.
Yarn requirements:
Hat: (1) 200-yard skein in a dark color, (1) 200-yard skein in a contrasting/light color
Cowl: (1) 200-yard skein in a dark color, (1) 200-yard skein in a contrasting/light color
Scarf: (2) 200-yard skeins in a dark color, (2) 200 -yard skeins in a contrasting/light color

Class prerequisites: This is a beginner friendly class, but it is not a class that teaches you how to knit. It is recommended for those experienced with the knit stitch, purl stitch and knitting in the round.
